🌗 Google goes in dark mode

Following the trend of its own mobile apps where they introduced dark mode, Google now plans to take that move to the next step.

Following the trend of its own mobile apps where they introduced dark mode, Google now plans to take that move to the next step.

Dark mode is planned to be implemented into the Desktop Web search, this means that users who have enabled dark mode on their macs or windows pc, will be able to see automatically the theme of Google according to their settings, example: if you use dark mode on your mac, Google will automatically present you the dark mode version of its page.

Dark Mode was introduced back in macOS Mojave and iOS 13, according to 9to5google , the tech giant search engine is doing some A/B tests on the home page with the new dark interface, this means that it will be presented only to a few users for testing purposes.

The background color for Google's dark theme is going to be dark gray. This theme is very similar if not the same as the long-implemented theme of duckduckgo.

Besides the entire page switching the color to dark gray, it seems the logo will also be changed to match the background.

It's unclear when Google will go all out on this change as they are performing stress testing right now.

For the time being, if you'd like to keep your eyes fresh with some dark background without being tracked, you can use the duckduckgo search engine.
